Making the pre flop bets are always important. Like once I had an Ace, King but decided to limp in and get as much as I can through that hand. What I was not aware of was the fact that a 4 on the flop can make three fours for a person who did pay a little to see the flop, at least I could have raised somehow and then in the flop see how great his hand is.
Some poker tips are based on what hand you've got and based on the hand you play the game. The more important thing in texas holdem is position. When you are sitting on a dealer button and got two ACES is really good hand if someone called before of you but if you are in early position and by your raise everyone folds you didn't get that much of the hand you wanted for.
